The challenge: a local boutique with a global audience
Zaeeda Designs creates its own traditional outfits for children. Its natural buyers aren't only in Koduvally: Malayali and other Indian families across India and abroad want festive and wedding outfits for their kids that they can't easily find where they live. A shop counter and Instagram posts can't take orders from Germany at midnight, and sharing sizes and prices one message at a time doesn't scale.
What Zaeeda Designs set up on PrimeLogue
Zaeeda Designs put more than 90 designs on its own PrimeLogue website, zaeedadesigns.com, organised by occasion: kids, birthday, Onam, Diwali, Christmas, festive and bridal. Every outfit has its own page with photos, a size chart, a price for each age from 0–6 months to 7–8 years, and an order form with free delivery across India, plus WhatsApp for questions.
- Collections by occasion. Parents shopping for Onam, Diwali, a birthday or a wedding go straight to the right outfits.
- Size-wise pricing. Each design lists every age size with its own price, so there are no "how much for 4 years?" messages.
- Photos that show the hand work. Several close-ups per outfit and a size chart image on the product page.
- Order form and WhatsApp. Customers choose the size and quantity and place the order, or ask a question on WhatsApp first.
- One link for everywhere. The same website works for a customer in Kozhikode and one in Toronto.

The result: customers inside and outside India
Zaeeda Designs now gets customers from across India and from Indian families abroad, in Germany, the UK, Canada and wherever the diaspora lives. Because buyers are choosing designer outfits for special occasions, the average sale is better than it was before the store went online.
Selling ethnic kidswear online: 5 lessons from Zaeeda Designs
- Sell what people can't find locally. Traditional, hand-worked designs travel well to families abroad.
- Organise by occasion. Parents shop for a festival or a wedding, not a fabric.
- Show a price for every size. It removes the most common question and speeds up the order.
- Photograph the details. Close-ups of the hand work justify a higher price.
- Keep WhatsApp one tap away. Overseas buyers often want to confirm size or delivery before paying.
